Chapter 132: I Want to Kill Part 1
Su Mian follows Han Chen back to the scene of the explosion and to the side of the window.
It’s got a big hole with not much left; only a bit of the curtain is still stuck on the blackened wall. Han Chen reaches out his hand with black gloves on. He touches the edge of the big hole and turns to her, “Can you see anything?”
His voice is light and emotionless, carrying a calming tone. Su Mian lifts her slightly red eyes and looks around. She says without certainty, “The curtains were open?”
She was too emotional at the time, but now that she thinks about it, she vaguely remembers that there was always light shining through the room that Xu Si Bai was in. It was completely different from the dark room that Zhou Xiao Zhuan was in.
Han Chen nods. He knocks on the window frame lightly looking at the buildings across. The sun is shining brightly; many of the buildings’ windows are reflecting the light from the sun, blinding their eyes right now. Read more

“Jin Xi.”
A gentle voice like spring water says accompanied by a pair of eyes that is brighter and clearer than the moon.
That person is standing a few steps below them. His shirt is wrinkled and his face is covered in ashes as he looks up at her.
At this very instant, all the sound and images in Su Mian’s world have disappeared; she stares at the person standing alive in front of her. His eyes are calm yet it carries sadness. He is staring at her just like this. His eyelashes lower as if he’s hiding away all of the complicated emotions.
“You’re not dead! You’re not dead! Forensic Investigator Xu is not dead!” Chatterbox beside them shouts and cries in joy. He turns around and runs up the stairs, “Leader! Cold Face, Forensic Investigator Xu is fine!” Read more

Chapter 130: If He Were To Die Part 1
The North side is mostly made up of industrial areas. Offices, warehouses, factories surround sparse areas of woods. It’s just past 7 am. The area is brightly lit and it’s filled with people. Seeing police cars and officers by the entrance, the workers are shocked and stand far away while looking at them.
Han Chen’s car drives through the entrance gate and is met by other criminal investigators from the local station, “We’ve found him. He’s just inside the storage room in the back and is fine right now. We have dispersed the people in the area and sealed it off with police tape.”
Han Chen nods. He turns around and sees Su Mian getting out of the car. Her eyes are still a bit red, but she has stopped crying. Her face is expressionless and her eyes are still like a puppet. She’s not looking at anyone. She runs toward the direction of where Zhou Xiao Zhuan is.
Han Chen chases after her. He makes it to her side quickly and runs with her without a word. Read more

Chapter 129: Her Decision Part 2
Su Mian is stunned as she sees the both of them again.
Zhou Xiao Zhuan.
He’s in a dark and small room. He’s still wearing the eye-catching lemon yellow jacket from last night before he disappeared. An unrelated thought flashes across Su Mian’s mind suddenly——every time this fellow comes across a big case, he always have to do something. For example, he would wear vibrant colored clothes or go to that small restaurant to eat a bowl of hot dry noodles. “This gives us good luck and spirit”——he always says this.
But right now, he doesn’t look like he’s in a good spirit at all. There’s a blood stain on the corner of his mouth, his hair is ruffled, and his nose and face are bruised and swollen. He looks very much in a wreck. He seems to be a bit out of it. His round eyes are staring blankly straight and it’s hard to tell what he’s thinking about.
Su Mian can’t stand seeing him like this and shouts, “Xiao Zhuan!” Read more

Chapter 128: Her Decision Part 1
Why?
Why must they do this? Why must they force her to choose?
What is their goal?
……
These thoughts flash across Su Mian’s mind. She lifts her head and stares into the bright sky. The sound of a siren is still ongoing, Han Chen is driving at top speed on the road in the early morning; many people turn to look.
Su Mian’s face is expressionless as she grabs onto the handle in the car. Her palm is hurting due to putting too much pressure on it.
Han Chen looks at her with the corner of his eye and sees her in a daze. It makes his heart ache. He returns his gaze to the road, “The bomb disposal expert is in the car behind us. Let him save the other one.”
Su Mian doesn’t speak.
Perhaps there’s still hope, but only perhaps. Read more

Chapter 126: Born to Die
After Han Chen finishes, everybody is struck dumb.
It’s a serious matter nonetheless. He sweeps his eyes across everyone and explains quickly:
“The most basic existence, 1.
The most complicated form of life: 8. From 0 to 9, only it is similar to the symbol of infinity as well as the shape of DNA. As for the closing phrases for the first and two phrases, ‘crisscrossing and turning’ and ‘losing morning and gaining night’, are like what Su Mian said. They seem more like they’re written to portray emotion. It’s probably how the killer feels about these two numbers.
It can blanket every day: 7. There are 7 days in a week, so it covers all of it;
It can possess every year: 4. There are 4 seasons in a year.
What is lost will always be regained……” Read more

……
The sky is about to be lit.
Numerous police vehicles are driving toward the Yangtze Park where the clowns are found.
Su Mian and Han Chen are sitting in a command car watching the foggy road ahead. Her heart is worried just like the fog covering everything. She squeezes Han Chen’s hand lightly. Han Chen’s elbow is resting on the car window frame as he looks straight. He grabs her hand and puts it on his thigh.

Nighttime.
The Black Shield Team’s office is fully lit and everyone is sitting around the table.
Qin Wen Long is also here. Compared to his gloomy face a few days ago, he’s smiling today.
“We’ve at least gotten one of them injured severely. It’s just too bad that we let him escape,” he says, “but we’ve managed to weaken their power, so there’s hope that we’ll be able to solve the case!”
Chatterbox and the others nod. Indeed, because their opponents were hiding in shadows previously, they as criminal investigators have been in a disadvantage facing against these serial killers. Chapter 123: Beloved Comrades Part 1
3 pm in the afternoon.
The sun is shining warmly on the road. There aren’t a lot of cars at this time and there are very few pedestrians as well.
Traffic police officer, Xiao Feng, is strolling on the sidewalk just beside the road as he keeps an eye on the nearby traffic condition.
Several cars stop at a red light. Xiao Feng walks along the cars unhurriedly and glances at their license plates out of habit. All of a sudden, he spots one of the car’s license plate is: ka7xxxx52. Wait! How come it seems so familiar? Where has he seen this before?
He quivers and his heart starts racing.
Isn’t this the license plate of a big serial killer that was just announced to the stations yesterday?!
Even Xiao Feng’s fingers are trembling as he immediately pulls out his walkie-talkie from his waist. He raises his head nervously in an attempt to assess the people in the vehicle. But the car windows are all tinted; he can’t see the person’s face clearly and can only make out that he’s the only one in the car. Read more
