Chapter 122: The Secret In Your Eyes Part 2
Su Mian pushes open the door and sees that Han Chen has already gotten out of bed and is sitting on the couch. He has a jacket over his shoulders and her laptop on his knees.
“Why didn’t you sleep longer?” she asks and sits beside him.
He takes a sip of tea from a cup. The tea is from his place and it has a nice fragrance to it.
“You had a good time chatting?” he says casually.
Su Mian is speechless, “……pfft.” This jealous man. She reaches out her arms and wraps them around his neck; she kisses him fiercely as a way to pacify him. His expression is indifferent; his young master temper is back again, so Su Mian will have to try harder.
Su Mian is a smart girl after all. She turns her gaze to the laptop and changes the subject, “You’re watching the video?” The screen is frozen on the part where L is bowing. In the dark alleyway, only the moon is showing in the narrow view of the sky, as well as the very dim light shining from an unknown source. Read more

Chapter 121: The Secret In Your Eyes Part 1
Twilight blankets the sky; as if wearing a veil of duskiness. The lights in the room are bright. Qin Wen Long, the Black Shield Team, Xu Si Bai and other criminal investigators are all concentrated in staring at the screen.
L finishes dancing very soon. But it makes everyone even quieter.
Qin Wen Long inhales his cigarette twice deeply, “Let’s hear it. What do you guys think?”
“Psychopath!” Chatterbox is the first to speak, “This is a clear provocation. This makes me so worked up!”
The other investigators nod. Xiao Zhuan also says loudly, “These few people are already crazy!”
Xu Si Bai is sitting beside Su Mian quietly. She doesn’t have any expression on her face, only her eyes look a bit cold. Read more

Chapter 119: Milliseconds Apart
The moment she receives Chatterbox’s message outlining the date of the injuring others incident, Su Mian knows that it’s not the right one.
Firstly, without a doubt, A didn’t write the poem. He doesn’t have the literary skills to. It was most likely L who wrote it.
L does not have compassion. He only cares about himself and definitely does not have any concept of punishing the evil. How could he possibly write a poem for an innocent person and write it with so many feelings?
And even if it were A, he only kills others based on his liking; he doesn’t seem to show any views of justice.
Therefore, the prediction from Chatterbox and the others cannot be correct. Read more

Chapter 118: A’s Song of Sadness
He wakes up and finds himself in a completely dark place.
He can’t see his fingers even when he holds them up. It’s cold and there’s an awful smell.
Where is this place?
He reaches his hand to the back of his head and stands up. His head hurts. The blurry memory of what happened before he became unconscious is slowly becoming clear. But it makes his body cover in cold sweat.
He clearly remembers that he was on his way home.
And then, under a streetlamp, a shadow came near. He didn’t pay too much attention to it. Read more

Chapter 117: Until the End of Time Part 3
At dawn.
Su Mian’s hair is in a mess and her jacket is also wrinkled from her tossing and turning on the table. But her eyes are gleaming like the stars. She pulls the conference room door open and just as she is about to speak, she sees Han Chen behind his desk lifting his head looking at her. His eyes are bright and clear. Cold Face isn’t beside him; he must have gone out to lead the other officers. Xiao Zhuan and Chatterbox, on the other hand, are sprawled across their desks and are sleeping.
Su Mian walks to Han Chen’s desk quickly before he pulls her to stand between his legs.
“I’ve been waiting for you,” he holds her hand, “Let’s go eat breakfast.”
Now that he mentions it, Su Mian feels hungry. But she can’t wait to share her thoughts with him. She sways his arms with her eyes shining even brighter, “Holy shit! I’ve found something important!” Read more

Chapter 116: Until the End of Time Part 2
They can eat to their hearts’ content now. Although Su Mian feels sorry for the wallet, once the dishes come, her chopsticks move quicker than everybody else. The other three are eating fiercely as well. Only Han Chen is eating his food slowly; his movements are elegant and captivating as always. He also helps her scrape the meat off of the crab shell and take the shells off of five shrimps; he successfully feeds her full without her knowing.
They finish eating. Su Mian leans back on the couch holding her stomach, and Han Chen accompanies her. Chatterbox and the others get up and walk around to help digest the food.
When there’s no one around, Su Mian’s voice becomes softer and more tender. She looks at him sideways, “Hey, were you always popular with friends back then? Was there always a big group of buddies around you?” Read more

Chapter 115: Until the End of Time Part 1
It’s a very clean warehouse.
The walls, ceiling, and floor are like new; not even a speck of dust can be found when touching the place with their hands.
There is nothing in the warehouse.
The Black Shield Team stands inside and is all speechless for a moment.
Chatterbox is the first to speak, “Holy shit, they’re toying with us!” Xiao Zhuan also lets out an emphasized, “hmph!”
“No need to hmph,” Han Chen says indifferently, “Are you guys Hengha Er Jiang?” (echoing one another, see manifestation on the wiki)
They immediately shut their mouths.
Su Mian is standing beside Han Chen and is also feeling a bit disappointed. Although Han Chen already expected that they’ve escaped, they’ve actually spent so much time on cleaning up the place. It’s clearly a sign of provocation. Read more

Chapter 114: Like Me This Much
The night is dark and quiet.
But the Black Shield Team’s office is fully lit.
A map of City Lan is hanging on the wall. Han Chen is fiddling with a pen in his hand and casually tapping the table with it. And then he circles three spots on the map.
The other four are sitting. Su Mian is a bit lost watching him so she turns her head and asks Xiao Zhuan, “What are those places that he circled?”
“I knew you wouldn’t recognize them. These are the home addresses of the three victims,” a low and laid back voice says.
Han Chen’s ears sure are sharp. He has his back towards them as he lifts his hand and draws a big circle that encompasses the three previous circles. He then tosses the pen away, turns around and looks at them. Read more

Chapter 113: Persist With Your Original Intentions Part 2
Han Chen is standing with his arms crossed looking far away before retrieving his gaze and looking at them again, “On the other hand, the fancier they are and the more stuff they do, the more traces of evidence they will leave behind. So tell me, what have you found.” His eyes land on Su Mian.
Su Mian answers, “Okay. Based on the profile I drafted for A, there are two preliminary conclusions that we can make. Number one, he must have been at the scene during the incident. I’ve already asked a couple of officers to gather as many images of the scene as they can. I will review them one by one and hopefully, I’ll be able to spot him. However, I still need more time.”
Everybody nods.
Su Mian continues, “Number two, his victim was a chosen target. He made his choice similar to T’s criterion, but there were differences. It wasn’t a big bad evil guilty person, but it was someone who betrayed his ‘senses.’ Someone who was selfish and greedy. This matches with what I inferred before: he has experienced betrayal in the past. Therefore, he is unable to accept someone who is like this. If he commits another crime, I believe that he will continue to choose a victim who is like this.” Read more

Chapter 112: Persist With Your Original Intentions Part 1
The atmosphere at the square is bleak.
Su Mian has her hand in her pocket standing beside the “A” mark as she thinks deeply while frowning her eyebrows.
At a distance outside of the yellow tape, there are many bystanders holding up their cell phones and taking photos. They haven’t been successful in asking them to leave. And behind her, Han Chen and the others are examining the area with a large group of forensic investigators. They’re picking up the tiny pieces of flesh one by one off of the ground.
A perfect performance. An absurd murder——
These two phrases flash across her mind. Read more
