Chapter 50: Hand in Hand (1 of 2)

In the classroom, the ceiling fan is spinning and humming above their heads.

This class is about Maoism.  Just like the majority of the guys in the class, Jin Xi is sleeping with her head down on her desk.  Someone pokes her arm, “Hey Beauty, Gao Han, the most handsome guy in the 4th class, asked me to give you his love letter.  Hurry and read it!”

Jin Xi is in a bit of a daze from napping.  She answers crisply, “Tell him to get lost.  Miss Beauty here is already taken.”

The classroom falls into complete quietness.  Their professor is also struck dumb.

Then follows by the thunderous sound of laughter!

Jin Xi sits back up slowly from her desk and sees the many chuckling faces.  As well as……their teacher’s angry expression.

Chapter 49: The Everyday Life of Living Together (2 of 2)

It’s quite crowded at the supermarket in the afternoon.  Jin Xi is pushing a shopping cart while Han Chen’s hand is on her waist.

There are too many things that they need to buy: new bedspread, duvet cover, slippers, bucket, shampoo, bathing soap……Why can’t she just bring everything from her dormitory?  It’s because Jin Xi has a plan in mind: for one, she can go back to her dormitory anytime and hide the fact that she is living together with Han Chen; secondly, this decision was made too hastily, so if she’s not happy with living with him, she can just turn around and go back to her dormitory.

While she picks up the things to buy, Han Chen accompanies her quietly this whole time.  At most, he raises his arm to stop her occasionally, “I have this at home.  You don’t need to buy it.”

“Oh, okay.”

The shopping cart is soon stuffed with items.

When they get to the cashier, Han Chen stands in the front and takes out his wallet.  Jin Xi pushes the cart to the side and waits for him.

Chapter 49: The Everyday Life of Living Together (1 of 2)

Han Chen has waited for this day to come for too long.  He also guessed long ago that Bai Jin Xi was his fiancée.

But what about to Bai Jin Xi?

The sound of water coming from the bathroom continues.  Jin Xi is sitting on the sofa with her arms wrapped around her legs and staring at this unfamiliar man’s home.  She falls into a trance.

Is she…going to start living with him just like this?

Her reasoning and logic have already accepted this, but she still feels as if she’s still dreaming.

On the other hand, she has always been an open-minded person.  Since she has already agreed to him, she stops feeling perplexed about it.  Furthermore, she’s very interested to know what happened and what she lost in the past.  Perhaps staying with Han Chen will help both of them recover their memories.

Moreover, he’s quite pitiful too……

Chapter 48: Come Home with Me

The sun is blazing and the cars around them are still honking.  Bai Jin Xi hugs Han Chen while watching the cars drive past them; many people are turning and looking at them.  And not far away, a policeman is walking quickly towards them.

Jin Xi’s tears slowly stop flowing.

She was crying simply out of reflex.  Hearing Han Chen recite that phrase and seeing his watery eyes, she couldn’t think clearly of the outcome and the logic behind what was happening; a kind of unexplainable pain surging up her heart.  And as a result, her tears began to flow.

And now, her emotions gradually calm down.  An unthinkable conclusion also floats clearly into her mind.

But……how is it possible?

She knows that he has a fiancée.  She can also guess that the person that he has been looking for all these years is his fiancée.  But she has never once connected herself with this person.
