Dear readers,

Thanks for all the novel suggestions for us to translate. Continue letting us know here and we will keep them in mind when we choose another novel.

Here’s our simple criteria for novel translations:

  • Has romance
  • Be in a modern setting
  • Have a decently strong female lead

  5. Aw, there are so many ancient setting books that I want to read… Do you just not like the setting? (I, for one, can never seem to get into historicals set in the west, unless there’s time travel.)

    I’ll probably post again later if I come with titles.

    I would like to suggest a ding mo book….maybe 他来了，请闭眼 He Has Arrived, Please Close Your Eyes or 美人为馅 Memory Lost..they both fit your criteria of romance, modern, and strong female lead!
    But whatever book you guys decide to translate, I will definitely be supporting your translation! 🙂

  12. Thank you so much for your translation projects! Since I discovered it, I’m basically haunting your site waiting for updates. 😉
    What do I want to read next? I’ve heard wonderful things about Ding Mo’s books on shusheng bar. I’d love to read “When a snail loves” (someone started translating this at one point, but they only did a little bit and seem to have abandoned the project long since) and “Memory lost”.

      “Blazing Sunlight” is already being translated by Peanuts over on the Fanatical blog. True, Peanuts is very busy and can only post updates every 2 weeks at the moment, but she’s already translated more than 60% of the novel, and will carry it through the end. Imho, that’s what matters most–that the project be completed eventually, even if the wait for updates is hard. (I know–I’m a huge fan of the novel myself and the wait for new chapters is driving me crazy!) Still, I’m thinking maybe it’s not fair to have 2 separate blogs translating the same book when there are so many great C-books out there that haven’t been translated (and even some great C-books that have been abandoned after being taken up by other translators).
      In the meantime, if you want to read a bit ahead of what Peanuts has posted (Blazing Sunlight), shoot me an email by clicking on my name and using the contact form on my wordpress blog. A friend has translated a few additional chapters of Blazing Sunlight and I can share them with you.

  16. Oh, another blogger just posted a novel prologue to entice readers/translators (she doesn’t plan to translate the novel), and it looks fun. I’ll throw the title out here as another possible suggestion:
    宝贝宝贝 Baobei Baobei by 以墨/上黑下土
    The h has a very high IQ and eventually builds up an impressive career, though of course, the H is still smarter (or maybe just more cunning/black belly). 😉

    Hopefully it’s a HE one since I’m easily depressed with any BE/OE.

  25. Could you please translate Bu Bu jing Xin (scarlet heart) by Tong Hua. I have searched everywhere for this book in english. Then one day i found one site that began translating but they stoppen tilll chapter 8. the book is also not available in english to buy so…. this is my only change i think…..
    So i was wondering if maybe you can/want to translate it.

  31. I’m not sure who the author is of this book but I heard that there is a book…” The Legend Of Zu “. I have watch the drama and found out that there is a book. So I was wondering if you have it on your guy’s site or know of where I can go and read it. I was not happy with the ending of the drama so I want to compare it to the novel.

  43. 步步惊心/ Bu Bu Jing Xin by Tong Hua, i know that this is not set in a modern era (it was at first but changed), but is actually good and was enjoying it until i discovered it was left, i hope you to consider it a bit, and thanks for the traslations now i’m interested in learn chinese:)

  50. Don`t turn from Summer ; Ding Mo … it`s ongoing but slow by Palmtreeh on his/her blog…. he/she it`s very kind to do the work (and I am very grateful) but I think beacause of the real life/work it`s not very easy to do this .

Hi can you please translate this novel Hunting for a Delicious Wife ( After ) by Mo Yan the first book is already completed Hunting for a Delicious Wife ( Before) by Mo Yan and second book is the (After) … there’s some chapter already been translated out there but the translator stop translating her/his project .

    It`s translated up until cap. 18 but from may 2016 it`s not updated and not even a reply to the suporters. I think it`s an abadoned project ! 🙁

  57. I would love to read Ode To Joy Book 3. I already translated books 1 and 2 but it might be in correct. Since it’s from my computer. It would be amazing to read it though because whatever ending the drama has. I know the ending the book has.

  58. May I request “First marriage then love”?
    The novel startup is similar to “Can I not get married”, sudden marriage. However, both of leads was heartbroken by their first love in the past then come back to their life after leaving for years but both leads were already together (married but no love yet). Female lead is an architect and male lead is a government officer. The writing styles is serious, no humor (apologies for my English) but I find it better than Can I not get married as the author know how to get you get into the story and plots.
    The story fits all the criteria you list, however, it was translated until 70ch (total 100ch) but was then abandoned half a year ago. I’m not sure if it was abandoned or something as the translator left it out without any words.
    I do hope you can pick it up and continue the translation if not, you can just try reading it, I would highly recommend it even though I can only read till ch 70.
    Anyway, I love novels by Ding Mo a lot, also Gu Man but I prefer more Josei. Li Chuan’s Past is already in my ‘Reading Next’ ^^.

PLz, i have been requesting a translation for My Dear Archimedes for ages but no one listens. it has romance, hot romance even, is in modern setting US and a strong gangster female lead(not literally, she is a scientist from a family of gangsters). it fulfils your conditions so plz translate it.

    This novel is not a crime-solving or mystery novel. The genre, plot, even the characters are not something that special, but I somehow find this refreshing? But IMO, it fits your criteria and I will be so thankful if you decide to complete the translation of this novel.

I just finished watching the drama adaptation of Xiao Hu Ru Wei’s Only Side by Side with You and am in luuuuvvvv. A lot was changed from the book though and sadly, no one’s picked it up yet. It suits perfectly with your criteria and it’d be so awesome if you could consider it!

  75. This is just a small suggestion that I am posting here since I could not find another way to send this –

    Thank you for translating “A Slight Smile Is very Charming”. I have just finished watching the TV series called “Love 020” on Netflix which was based on this book. In particular, I was looking for an English translations of this series. So after much searching, I accidentally and fortunately stumbled upon a link to your website in someone else’s comment elsewhere.

    Hence, just wanted to suggest that if you could somehow incorporate the tv series name “Love 020” in the title of your translation series, this would probably be more helpful to others who would want to read your translation when doing a search on “Love 020”. Otherwise people will not necessarily know this series by it’s original book title (A Slight Smile…) and would probably not be able to find your translation (which btw is excellent). Love all the side stories that help flesh out the series and characters as well. The TV series is really excellent as well and seems to keep to the book as I read the the author was involved.

    Thanks again. Just wanted you to be able to get the attention and notice that you are due for all your hard work. Loved reading this translation.

I still come back again and again to read it here because your team did such a great job 🙂 As such, would you please consider translating the following novels: Stolen Love by Zhou Yu, City of Mercy/Love and Redemption by Ding Mo, and Don’t turn from Summer ( yes, it another piece by Ding Mo but somehow it keeps getting dropped…Plus, Lin Mo Chen’s story just need to be told, he’s notoriously famous and we need to know why?? Thank you so much for taking novel request.
